Chicago Torture Justice Center, 2022: Thank you SO much to UMedics for coming out to give a Gunshot First Response workshop. UMedics offers trainings specifically for people who live in neighborhoods where shooting often occurs or where trauma centers are not easily accessible.

We situated ourselves in the timing and significance of this training—in the wake of horrific mass shootings, police shootings of unarmed children, and increased gun violence across the city.

Our biggest takeaway is that WE keep us safe! Especially when we are equipped with the knowledge to help each other.
