Asthma Community Care
The goal of the Asthma Community Care Workshop is to support our people living with asthma or their caregivers. Everyone loves someone who has asthma. This workshop is offered online and in-person. Key topics include:
- UMedics' General Principles of First Aid
- Why this Matters to Black People
- How to respond to someone having breathing difficulties
- How to recognize when a “episode” becomes an emergency requiring 911 or ER visit
- Emergency medications for asthma
- Asthma action plans and communication with doctors
- Herbal medicine to manage asthma
- (Where requested) COVID-19 prevention and tips
- Community care planning for asthma
- Environmental justice and asthma
